King was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to a family of Baptist ministers. He attended Morehouse College, where he studied sociology and religion.
He quickly became involved in the Civil Rights Movement, and he led the Montgomery Bus Boycott in 1955. King continued to lead nonviolent protests against segregation and racism throughout the 1950s and 1960s. He was arrested numerous times, and he was even put in jail for his activism. However, he never gave up his fight for justice and equality.
In 1963, King gave his famous “I Have a Dream” speech at the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. The speech is considered one of the most important speeches in American history. It inspired millions of people around the world to fight for equality and justice.
King was assassinated on April 4, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was only 39 years old. His death was a great loss to the Civil Rights Movement, but his legacy lives on. He is remembered as a champion of justice and equality.
