Cleopatra was the last active ruler of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt. She was born into the ruling Ptolemaic dynasty and became co-regent with her father, Ptolemy XII, at the age of 18. Cleopatra's reign was marked by political intrigue and strategic alliances.
Cleopatra is best known for her relationships with two prominent Roman leaders, Julius Caesar and Mark Antony. In 48 BC, she famously aligned herself with Caesar during his visit to Egypt and bore him a son named Caesarion. After Caesar's assassination in 44 BC, she formed a romantic and political alliance with Mark Antony, who was part of the Second Triumvirate ruling Rome.
