Franklin D.

Roosevelt

1882 — 1945

Franklin D. Roosevelt was the 32nd President of the United States, serving an unprecedented four terms from 1933 until his death in 1945. He led the nation through two of its greatest crises: the Great Depression and World War II.

FDR's presidency began during the depths of the Great Depression. He implemented the New Deal, a series of programs and reforms aimed at providing relief, recovery, and reform to the American people. These included the establishment of social welfare programs, financial regulation, public works projects, and labor reforms.

During World War II, Roosevelt led the United States in its efforts to combat Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. He played a key role in forming the Allied coalition and provided crucial leadership in both the military and diplomatic spheres.

He remains one of the most consequential and admired presidents in U.S. history.
