Picasso

1881 — 1973

Pablo Picasso was a Spanish painter, sculptor, and printmaker who is widely regarded as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. He moved to Barcelona as a teenager and later to Paris, where he became a central figure in the development of modern art.

Picasso is best known for co-founding the Cubist movement, along with Georges Braque, which revolutionised the way artists depicted reality by breaking down forms into geometric shapes and multiple perspectives. Some of his most famous Cubist works include “Les Demoiselles d'Avignon” and “Guernica.”

Throughout his long and prolific career, Picasso experimented with various artistic styles and mediums, including Surrealism, neoclassicism, and sculpture. He produced an immense body of work, encompassing paintings, drawings, ceramics, and prints.

Picasso's impact on modern art cannot be overstated. His innovative approach to form, color, and composition challenged traditional notions of art and laid the groundwork for countless artistic movements that followed.
